Floating Icons
As you explore the world of Sarnaut you will
notice many floating icons over the head of NPCs as well as around the
corners of your interface. Each different icon represents a different
type of NPC that you may interact with. For example, NPCs that give
quests can be identified by yellow exclamation points, weapon and armor

trainers have a pair of scissors floating over their head. You may turn

Controls
Movement
There are two ways that you can move in Allods
Online. With WASD Movement, "W" will move you forward, "A" and "D" will
cause you to strafe left and right, "S" will move you backward,
"SPACEBAR" will cause you to jump, and "Q" and "E" will turn you left
and right.
To use click-to-move you must first enable it
in the Interface section of the Settings menu. Once it is enabled,
left-clicking on any location will automatically move you to that
location. Additionally, you may also left-click on an NPC or a player to
automatically move you to them.
Camera Controls
To move your camera hold down the left or right
mouse button and rotate to view the world. Note that the only way to
view your character from the front is to use hold down the left mouse
button. The right mouse button will rotate your character in the
direction the camera is rotating. To zoom in or out you may use your
mouse wheel. You can also invert the y-axis of the game under the
Interface section of the Settings menu if you choose.
Interacting with NPCS
Clicking on an NPC will cause their character
portrait to appear to the right of yours. To interact with an NPC, such a
quest giver, merchant, or archetype trainer, you must move close to
them before clicking on them. A window with text and options will appear
allowing you to read the NPC's message and select the option you
desire. To stop talking to an NPC, simply walk away from them or close
the text window by clicking the X in the top right-hand corner.
Gathering Items
You will need to gather many items throughout your
adventures in Sarnaut! Many quests require you to collect items from
your surrounding environment, and in some professions such as herbalism
you will need to gather crafting materials such as plants. To help you
find gatherable items, you can make them light up by pressing "T". Once
you find a gatherable item you can gather it by simply right-clicking on
it.
You will also need to gather items that drop from NPCs that you have defeated. To gather the items you can right-click on the bag that appears near their corpse and then left-click on the items that appear. To successfully gather any items you must have open space in your bag.

Context Actions
There are several actions such as interacting with
NPCs or gathering items that are called context actions. In Allods
Online these actions can be completed by using special buttons on the
interface that will appear between your two bottom action bars. They
will appear if you are close enough to an NPC or item to interact with
it, and can be executed by pressing "Z", "X", or "C".
Using Spells
There are two ways to use spells in Allods Online.
You may right-click on any spell in your Spellbook or action bar. Your
character will then begin using this ability. Spells do not
automatically repeat once they have completed, so you will need to
right-click on the spell to use it again.
Additionally, you may also use the hotkeys that correspond with each spell on the action bars. Once again, spells do not automatically repeat once they are completed, so you will need to continue to press the hotkeys to use each spell. Most spells have cooldowns, which means that after they are used they cannot be used again for a certain period of time. Spells whose cooldowns are active will have a grayish color covering their icon. Once this cooldown has faded, you will be able to use the spell again.
Certain spells can be prepared in advance which will remain queued until you cast them. When you are ready, you can cast them by clicking the spell on your action bar or pressing the corresponding hotkey. Once you do choose to cast the spell that is queued, it will cast instantly and you will then need to begin casting your next spell. Beyond the one spell you may queue, most offensive spells may only be used while in combat while defensive spells can generally be cast out of combat.
You can also add spells or items to the action bars by dragging them from your Spellbook, bag, bank, or Character Info window to the desired location on an action bar. To remove a spell, simply drag the selected spell off the action bar.

Learning New Spells and Abilities
As you level you will automatically learn certain
spells and abilities which will help you become more powerful. However,
to make sure you are as strong as you can be, you will need to allocate
talent points as well as use rubies into your talent tree and talent
grids. To access the talent tree and talent grids click the Talents
button on the left tool bar, or simply press "N".
Sometimes spending talent points or rubies will
simply give you a higher rank of a spell or ability you already know.
However, sometimes you will be able to learn entirely new spells or
abilities. Spells and abilities you have already learned can be found in
your Spellbook by clicking the Spellbook button on the right tool bar
or by pressing "P".
Taking Screenshots
Allods Online has a built in screenshot function
that will allow you to take a picture of everything on your screen
in-game. You may even remove the interface to take cleaner and nicer
looking screenshots by pressing "ALT-Z". Once you have the screen set up
the way you want, you may press "SCROLL LOCK" or "PRINT SCREEN" to take
a screenshot.
Screenshots are automatically stored in the Screenshots folder which can be found at C:\gPotato.com\Allods Online\Personal\Screenshots. Screenshots are automatically saved as JPGs.
